What is Being Done?

The Coalition for Environmentally Safe Communities is at the forefront of efforts to address lead exposure in Washington DC. By collaborating with government agencies, community organizations, and residents, the coalition is working to raise awareness, advocate for policy changes, and provide resources and support to those affected by lead exposure.

  • The coalition is pushing for increased funding for lead abatement programs and stricter enforcement of lead-safe regulations.

  • Educational campaigns are being conducted to help residents understand the risks of lead and the steps they can take to protect themselves and their families.

  • The coalition is working to ensure that all DC residents, regardless of income or neighborhood, have access to lead-safe housing and a healthy environment.
